TikToker Kidnapped, Watched Parent’s Murder (video)

In a heart-wrenching episode of the popular true crime podcast “Serlessly,” host Annie Eliss sat down with Fallon Finaci, a survivor of a traumatic event that altered her life forever. The episode marks the 31st anniversary of a horrific incident in which Finaci and her siblings witnessed the tragic murder of their parents at the hands of their mother’s stalker, a man who had once been a family friend.

Finaci, who was only nine years old at the time, recounted the chilling details of that fateful night in January 1993 when her mother’s stalker entered their home armed with a rifle. Following a series of alarming threats made to Finaci’s mother, the stalker forced his way in and began a harrowing ordeal that would leave the family forever scarred.

Before the incident, Finaci’s mother had reported her concerns to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), but human errors in the police response led to a devastating delay in help. Despite an early 911 call made by Finaci’s older brother, the police did not enter the home until more than six hours later, at which point it was too late. Finaci described the horror of sitting just feet away from her deceased parents for hours, waiting for the authorities to arrive.

Tragically, both of Finaci’s brothers later succumbed to mental health struggles stemming from the trauma they experienced that night. Finaci’s older brother, Carson, took his life at the age of 29, and her younger brother, Clinton, tragically followed suit in late 2023, at the age of 36. Finaci has since become an advocate for mental health awareness and support for victims of trauma, emphasizing the need for proper care and resources for those affected by such tragedies.

Throughout the years, Finaci has worked tirelessly to share her story and raise awareness about the issues surrounding domestic violence and stalking. She highlighted the systemic failures that allowed her mother’s stalker to evade proper intervention and stressed the importance of listening to victims and taking their concerns seriously.

In her advocacy, Finaci has participated in national inquiries concerning missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, seeking to shed light on the broader issues facing Indigenous communities. She aims to use her voice to not only honor her parents and brothers but also to advocate for changes that could prevent similar tragedies in the future.

As she continues her journey of healing and advocacy, Finaci encourages others to support initiatives aimed at aiding victims of domestic violence and mental health challenges. She is determined to transform her grief into action, fostering resilience and hope for others who have walked similar paths.

Finaci’s story is a stark reminder of the lasting impact of violence and the critical need for systemic change to protect vulnerable individuals from harm. Through her efforts, she strives to ensure that no other family has to endure the pain that hers has suffered.
