What could be more painful than the pain of Diogo Jota’s mother when she had to say goodbye to her two unfortunate sons who passed away at the same time in a traffic accident?

The funeral of Liverpool striker Diogo Jota and his younger brother Andre Silva has just taken place in a mournful atmosphere in Portugal. But the most painful image is the image of the mother – the woman who gave birth to the two boys, now having to say goodbye to both of them in just a moment.

The photo captured the moment when Mrs. Isabel Silva burst into tears beside the coffin, being helped by relatives in a state of near collapse, making everyone who saw it choke up. Her bewildered face, messy red hair, lifeless eyes and broken sobs were all she had left when she witnessed her beloved, talented and promising son – Diogo Jota – passing away forever along with his younger brother in the same horrific car accident at dawn.

The image left the Portuguese media and football fans around the world speechless. There is no greater pain than losing a child, especially losing two children in just one day. She did not need to say anything – because her tears and pain said it all.

The passing of Diogo Jota and his brother has shocked and saddened the football world. Flowers and farewells were spread in front of Liverpool Stadium, the team that Diogo Jota played for.

Despite the comfort of Jota’s family, friends and teammates, every arm felt small in the face of such a great mental shock. The mother not only lost her son, but also her dreams, hopes and a part of her heart.

The accident occurred at around 2am on July 4 in the city of Porto, when Diogo Jota and his brother were driving an acid green Lamborghini Huracan. According to local police, the car veered off the road and hit a concrete barrier on the side of the road before flying dozens of metres away and bursting into flames, killing both men on the spot.

The bodies were taken to the Zamora Forensic Hospital for identification. The bereaved families were immediately present to identify the victims, before the bodies of Diogo and his brother were flown back to Portugal for funerals.

Just 12 days ago, Jota had a happy wedding with his longtime girlfriend Rute Cardoso. Now, his young wife is a widow, and his parents have lost both their sons.

The passing of Diogo Jota and his brother not only left a huge void in world football, but also deepened a tragic chapter in the life of the mother – the woman who brought two children into the world, now sent them back to dust on the same day.
