Dems ramp up anti-ICE rhetoric: ‘GET SHOT’ (video)

In a troubling escalation of violence against federal immigration agents, recent weeks have seen a significant surge in assaults against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, prompting urgent discussions about the implications of rising anti-ICE rhetoric. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reported a staggering 700 percent increase in assaults against ICE personnel compared to the same period last year, raising alarms among law enforcement officials and lawmakers alike.

High-profile incidents have underscored the severity of the situation. In McAllen, Texas, a gunman identified as 27-year-old Ryan Lewis was shot and killed after opening fire at a Border Patrol annex. This incident followed another violent ambush near Dallas, where an officer from Alvarado was shot in the neck during a coordinated attack involving multiple assailants, some of whom were reportedly wearing body armor and carrying two-way radios. In total, ten individuals have been charged in connection with the Dallas attack, described as an organized ambush against law enforcement.

Commentators are increasingly concerned about the role of political rhetoric in fueling this violence. Critics argue that inflammatory language used by some Democratic lawmakers, who have equated ICE agents with Nazis, is contributing to an environment where violence against these officers is becoming more commonplace. “I have been warning about this for two months,” said one commentator, highlighting the potential consequences of such rhetoric. “Unless we stop the hateful narrative against ICE and Border Patrol, there will be more situations like today.”

The rise in assaults is not merely a statistic; it reflects a broader societal tension regarding immigration enforcement in the United States. Many blame the current political climate, where calls for defunding ICE and aggressive anti-immigration enforcement have created a volatile atmosphere. This sentiment is echoed by various Democratic leaders who have openly criticized ICE’s operations, with some even calling for direct action against federal agents.

In stark contrast, the Biden administration has reiterated its commitment to law and order, emphasizing that ICE agents are simply doing their jobs in accordance with the laws enacted by Congress. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre condemned any calls for violence against law enforcement, asserting that the administration stands firmly against such actions. “We must be a nation of law and order,” she stated, underscoring the importance of upholding the rule of law in a safe and respectful manner.

As these tensions continue to escalate, the safety of ICE agents and their families is increasingly at risk. Individuals within the community who are related to or know ICE officers express concern over the dangers their loved ones face daily, as they carry out their duties amid growing hostility. The situation calls for a reevaluation of the tone and language used in political discourse surrounding immigration enforcement, as the stakes rise for those on the front lines.

The ongoing investigations into these violent incidents highlight the urgent need for a comprehensive response to protect law enforcement officials and restore order. With assaults against ICE agents reaching alarming levels, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are urged to unite in condemning violence and fostering a dialogue that prioritizes safety and respect for law enforcement. As the nation grapples with complex immigration issues, the imperative to safeguard the individuals tasked with enforcing the law has never been more critical.
