Pam Bondi blasts anti-ICE protestors, ‘prosecution up to 20 years’

In a fiery address, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has condemned escalating anti-ICE protests in California, warning that looters could face up to 20 years in prison under the Hobbs Act. As chaos unfolds on the streets, with reports of violent clashes and widespread looting, Bondi vowed to protect Californians and restore order. “California is burning,” she declared, highlighting the urgency of the situation as businesses are ransacked and law enforcement officers are targeted.

The unrest reached alarming levels as protesters hurled bricks and concrete at law enforcement, injuring officers and endangering civilians. “This is not just looting; it’s orchestrated violence,” Bondi stated, emphasizing that federal resources, including the National Guard and Marines, are being deployed to safeguard public safety and federal buildings. She criticized local officials for failing to declare an economic disaster, which could have unlocked vital federal aid for struggling businesses.

Bondi’s remarks come amid a backdrop of increasing tensions, with California’s curfew aimed at curtailing the unrest. She underscored the need for law enforcement to act decisively, stating, “We’re not afraid to go further if we need to.” The Attorney General also drew a stark contrast between the current protests and those in New York, asserting that peaceful demonstrations were handled swiftly by local police.

As the situation continues to escalate, Bondi’s message is clear: the federal government is prepared to take strong action against those who threaten the safety of Californians. “We’re going to protect Americans,” she asserted, as the chaos unfolds in real-time across the state. The urgency of the moment demands immediate attention as law enforcement braces for further violence.
