President Trump signs the ‘big, beautiful bill’ into effect (video)

In a historic ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, President Donald Trump signed into law what he described as the “big, beautiful bill,” a sweeping piece of legislation that combines various tax cuts and spending measures. This bill, touted as the largest of its kind in American history, aims to benefit a wide array of groups, including military personnel, families, and workers across numerous sectors.

Addressing a gathering of military families from Whiteman Air Force Base, President Trump expressed his enthusiasm for the landmark legislation, emphasizing its potential to spur economic growth and provide financial relief to American citizens. “This is the greatest victory yet,” he declared, highlighting the bill’s provisions that include the largest tax cut in U.S. history, a permanent child tax credit, and measures to eliminate the so-called “death tax” on family farms and small businesses.

The president remarked on the necessity of consolidating multiple initiatives into one cohesive bill. “It was supposed to be in three, four, five, six or seven bills,” he said, explaining how he had advocated for a single, comprehensive approach. “We want one big beautiful bill, and that’s what we did.”

Trump’s comments also included a pointed critique of the Democratic Party, accusing them of failing to support the bill out of a perceived animosity towards his administration. He reiterated his belief that the legislation is overwhelmingly popular, claiming it has received more support from the public than any previous bill.

The bill includes significant provisions aimed at boosting the middle class and enhancing border security. President Trump noted the importance of both strong borders and fair elections, asserting that the bill would ensure the integrity of future electoral processes.

In addition to tax cuts, the legislation promises to modernize the military and improve national defense capabilities, with Trump referencing a new initiative for enhanced military infrastructure. He declared, “We’re going to modernize and remodernize our military,” emphasizing the administration’s commitment to national security.

As Trump signed the bill, he acknowledged key figures in Congress who played vital roles in its passage, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune. “What a job they have done,” he noted, praising their efforts in bringing the bill to fruition.

The event coincided with Independence Day celebrations, adding a layer of significance to the signing. “This is the triumph of democracy on the birthday of democracy,” Trump remarked, suggesting that the bill reflects the will of the American people as expressed in the recent elections.

As the ceremony concluded, the president encouraged citizens to look forward to the economic benefits that the bill promises, asserting that it would lead to a “golden age” for America. “We’re going to make America great again,” he concluded, leaving attendees with a sense of optimism about the future.

The passage of this comprehensive bill marks a pivotal moment for the Trump administration, setting the stage for potential economic growth and significant policy changes in the months and years to come.
