Multi-coloured beards, pointed helmets and huge orange tentacles were all setting hearts racing at this catwalk event as part of London Fashion Week.

The futuristic met the bizarre at the showcase on Friday as models showed off, what the designer calls, ‘intergalactic wearable art’.

The costumes were created by London-based designer Jack Irving, who has also worked with pop superstar Lady Gaga

The show was put on by fashion events company On|Off and the looks were created by London-based designer Jack Irving.

His work has included creating costumes for the X Factor as well as working with avant-garde pop superstar Lady Gaga.

Irving says he wants to create ‘cosmic worlds for alien showgirls to parade through’.

His website said his mission ‘is to engulf the world in the most fantastical spectacle, incorporating all elements of theatricality with a love for colliding technology with live performance’.

The costumes went on display at an On|Off event in the capital as part of London Fashion Week 2017
