In an interview, Drake replied: “This is a building in my hometown, so I want it to be able to stand for 100 years. I wanted it to be a massive ‘monument’ and I could feel it. It will be one of the things I leave behind for the world, so it has to be strong and timeless.”

The house is inspired by traditional Beaux Arts architecture, refined and abstracted to imbue it with a classic quality but still exudes a contemporary spirit. In terms of form, materials and construction process, it creates a 19th century limestone castle. But the external configuration is more minimalist, the lines are a bit neater. Rafauli describes the “crazysexycool” interior as modern Art Deco, again referring to the classic historical style that has been adapted and rejuvenated to reflect the spirit of the times as well as the DNA of the high-end clientele. grandfather.

Drake emphasized: “Once you choose a certain style, you will ‘dance’ according to that style. This house symbolizes the ultimate level of luxury. That message is expressed through room size, materials, floor and ceiling details. I wanted to make sure people saw it as a piece of residential art that I cherished for many years.”

Indeed, the scale of the rooms sets the tone for the family experience. From the moment you enter the lobby of the house, you will enjoy relaxing steps and suddenly admire the walls and floors clad in solid limestone with Nero Marquina marble panels designed under the ceiling, antique mirror surfaces are Framed in bronze. The great room is 4.1 meters high and at the end of the space is a bespoke grand piano by respected piano maker Bösendorfer.

Drake’s world is filled with music, providing a true artistic experience.

The highlight of the great room is Lobmeyr’s iconic Metropolitan chandelier, designed by Hans Harald Rath to decorate the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Featuring 20,000 hand-cut Swarovski crystals, this dazzling light sculpture is the second largest installation of its kind in the world.

One of Drake’s favorite features of the house is the nearly 300-square-foot bedroom with a 102-square-foot covered terrace. The bedroom is where Drake escapes from the outside world at the end of the night, and where he begins that happy life every morning. The bathroom is where he relaxes and separates from his thoughts, the wardrobe makes him want to talk to himself while putting on new outfits.

And God always appears in every design detail.

The bed and bed base weigh about a ton and cost more than a regular house. The headboard features an antique mirror and premium leather upholstery, including a whiskey and champagne cabinet. The headboard is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and the bedspread incorporates an Alexander McQueen carpet from Rug Company.

The house also includes a world-class recording studio, a kitchen decorated with many new La Cornue products, an awards room that tells Drake’s story from childhood to his growing up years, and an indoor swimming pool. Encased in sparkling black granite…
