Less than 2 weeks after defeating Klitschko to reach the top of world heavyweight boxing, boxer Tyson Fury was stripped of one of his three championship belts.
On November 28, challenger Tyson Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko, thereby winning the three WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight championship belts from the Ukrainian boxer.
However, less than 2 weeks after being crowned, Fury was stripped of this organization’s championship belt by the International Boxing Federation (IBF). The reason why Fury was stripped of his championship title was because instead of agreeing to fight with Ukrainian boxer Vyacheslav Glazkov in a mandatory challenge match given by the IBF, Fury signed a rematch contract with Klitschko in 2016.
BBC Sport quoted IBF President Lindsey Tucker: “It is true that Tyson Fury was stripped of his championship belt due to refusing challenger Vyacheslav Glazkov to sign a rematch clause with Wladimir Klitschko.”
During his professional boxing career, Tyson Fury had 25 undefeated matches. Besides his talent, this 27-year-old boxer is also known for his shocking statements. Fury is currently facing a lot of trouble because of his extremely rude comments about women and homosexuals. Most recently, Manchester police also launched an investigation to clarify the case of this boxer being complained about comments on the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire program.
