Angelina Jolie has really settled into being a single mom after her 2016 split from Brad Pitt.
And in the new issue of UsWeekly, a source said that she is ‘always coming up with fun things to do’ with all six kids, which include Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
‘Her kids are her life,’ the source said, adding that ‘every day is a new adventure’ for the family that calls a $25m, 11,000 square foot mansion in Los Angeles home.
The source also calls her a ‘softie’ who finds it hard to say no to her children.
‘She indulges the kids and wants to give them everything they want,’ said the insider.
But she also makes sure they don’t just sit in front of the TV: ‘If one of them is interesting in something she really fosters that and makes it happen.
‘If one of them wants to paint, they go and get supplies.’
Other examples the source brought up was Jolie getting Pax into boxing classes, Zahara into martial arts, and Shiloh and Knox studying ‘real world robotics.’
‘She really likes the life lessons and new ideas that come from trying all different things,’ the source said about her family outings. ‘The sky’s the limit for her.’
These adventures have includes trips to Cambodia and Paris.
Though their summer plans have not yet been revealed, it is likely that dad Pitt will be at the Cannes Film Festival in mid May for his Quentin Tarantino movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
This fall Jolie will travel the world to promote Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil.
Angie makes sure to have one-on-one time with all six kids.
But these days it’s Vivienne who is by the Salt actress’ side the most as they have a special ‘bond.’
And all the kids have friends they bring over to the house. They often have play dates with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown because Angie is friends with her mother.
Angelina was a fun mom in March when she took her kids to the Hollywood premiere of Dumbo.
‘The kids seemed really polite and well-mannered and happy to be together, just talking quietly among themselves and finishing up their food,’ an eyewitness told Us of the March 11 pre-party at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles.
Her father Jon Voight has also commented on Angie’s parenting: ‘She is very much there with them.
‘It’s just amazing to have kids and watch them grow,’ Voight told Us. ‘You realize the preciousness of time and how short our lives really are.’
Earlier this week it was announced Maddox will be going to college in the fall. The university was not named but it has been speculated he might study in either South Korea or New York.
‘I’m nothing but proud,’ the Maleficent actress, 43, told People. ‘I look forward to all he will do.’
Jolie and Pitt shared custody of all six children after their 2016 split.
Though Maddox’s university is not known, there have been hints.
Jolie was seen visiting universities in Seoul, South Korea in November with her teen son.
The top colleges there are University Of Seoul, Kookmin University and Seoul National University.
Maddox has likely already been learning the Korean language, also referred to as Hangul, from a tutor.
In 2016 Angelina told BBC he was trying German and Russian.
‘All the kids are learning different languages. I asked them what languages they wanted to learn and Shi is learning Khmai, which is the Cambodian language, Pax is focusing on Vietnamese, Mad has taken to German and Russian, Z is speaking French, Vivienne really wanted to learn Arabic, and Knox is learning sign language,’ the Gia star said.
And in February Maddox was also seen touring New York University with his Oscar-winning mother.
In late 2017, People claimed that Jolie was overseeing homeschooling of all six of her kids at her Los Feliz, California mansion.
They have been learning all the basics like reading and arithmetic. And they also take languages classes and are learning musical instruments, it was alleged.
‘They have tutors for all kinds of subjects,’ said the source. ‘The kids are also very physically active. They like soccer and love skateboarding, and also take self-defense classes.’
In March Jolie stepped out at the premiere of Dumbo, held at the El Capitan Theater in LA with four of her six kids: twins Vivienne and Knox as well as Shiloh and Zahara.
While Angelina did not voice a character in Dumbo, fans can see the actress in the sequel to her 2014 Disney flick, Maleficent.
Angelina has been married to Pitt since 2014, but the couple had been in a relationship since at least 2005.
The duo met as co-stars on Mr And Mrs Smith, while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
