Angelina Jolie is known for far more than her stunning beauty and talented on-screen portrayals.
And on Thursday evening the UNHCR ambassador and humanitarian yet again revealed her caring nature when she comforted a distressed female fan who’d been pulled from the crowd, bending down beside her to wipe away her tears.
The 39-year-old mother-of-six arrived to the New York City set of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart where she encountered the supporter, bundled up in winter wear, waiting to meet the gorgeous star.
Angelina, kneeled on the floor to get eye-level with her fan, named Techna, who had experienced a panic attack.
Not minding to dirty her black satin-sided trousers, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith actress consoled the woman, who goes by the handle @TechnaDeschanel on her social media, before posing with her for a couple of photos.
On her Instagram, Techna explained: ‘Then the guards added another baracade (sic). Chaos erupted to the point. (sic) I was getting squished to the point that I started to have a panic attack.'(sic)
She continued: ‘She saw me struggling to the point that the security pull (sic) me out and sat down (sic). Angelina didnt leave till she made sure I was ok (sic)’
Angelina looked her usual elegant self, stylishly pairing her pretty trousers with a sleek white button-up coat, black high heels and a gold beaded bracelet.
For her appearance on the Comedy Central programme, the two-time Oscar winner wore her brunette locks down in loose curls and let her flawless complexion shine with minimal makeup aside from her trademark eyeliner.
The show’s host Jon Stewart appeared to be entranced by the beautiful star, admitting his decades-long admiration for her as well as confessing to have seen every single film she’s ever made.
After joking about what could have been, if Angie had ended up with him instead of her husband Brad Pitt, Jon revealed, ‘From the moment I met you, it must have been 20 years ago, [I thought] this person has talent.
He continued, telling her: ‘This person [Jolie] embodies something different, special. I’ve always thought that about you’.
Angelina, screening her second major directorial effort, a biopic on WWII POW Louis Zamperini titled Unbroken, appeared on The Daily Show to discuss the experience documenting the late hero’s story.
During her interview with Stewart she touched on the challenge of telling the late Zamperini’s story because, as she says, ‘his life is bigger than any movie we could ever make, he’s an extraordinary man. It’s so hard to sum up his life’.
After convincing the studio to give her the role as director, Angelina says she was caught ‘off guard’ and even thought to her self, “Oh my. I’m not sure I do [know what I’m doing].”‘
But it appears she does know what she’s doing, as her film, described by Stewart as ‘wonderful’ and ‘epic’, is considered to be a big contender at the Academy Awards in February.
The grueling drama hits US theatres December 25 and UK theatres December 26.
Meanwhile, prior to appearing on The Daily Show Angelina has been busy making the rounds promoting the biopic, and was scheduled for an interview on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night before it was cancelled.
‘There will not be new episodes tonight or Thursday evening,’ tweeted Fallon Tonight.
It turns out the three-time Emmy winner and his wife Nancy welcomed their second child – daughter Frances Cole Fallon – via surrogate at 8:45 Wednesday morning.
The Maleficent star can understand as she is a mother of six children – Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox & Vivienne.
Angelina and her husband Brad – who turns 51 this month – finally tied the knot on August 23 at their French estate, the Château Miraval.
Soon after the nuptials, the A-listers known as ‘Brangelina’ were back at work on the Malta set of their 1970s romance By the Sea.
The romantic drama, written and directed by Jolie, is due out in theatres in 2015.
