Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo is reportedly willing and set to cut his salary by around 25% to make his move to Barcelona.
The 29-year-old had seemed on track to join the Spanish giants last week.
But the club’s financial issues have held up the move.
Cancelo was actually at Lisbon airport on Monday and was set to fly to Barcelona.
But Barcelona reportedly did not have their finances in line, meaning Cancelo did not fly.
Barca president Joan Laporta is said to have taken out a bank guarantee to provide the club with an injection of cash to help bring the move to fruition, at a risk to his own personal wealth.
And now, it’s been claimed that Cancelo himself is making efforts to help this move come to fruition…

He apparently knows it is something he has to do in order to seal the move.
Because City are not willing to cover any of his wages during the loan.
City have already helped Barcelona by agreeing to remove the option to buy clause on the player.
Cancelo – described in the past by Bernardo Silva as ‘an amazing player’ – is thought to be on about £250,000-a-week at City.
The star’s future at the Etihad is pretty much over, following what happened back in January.

It is reported that his response to a lack of game time at the club was a reason City shipped him out on loan to Bayern Munich.
Since returning, the player has not smoothed things over with Pep Guardiola, who has not selected him in any of the club’s games so far this season.
