Erling Haaland admitted that stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are still playing well despite their age.
Striker Erling Haaland is one of the best players in the world at the moment. Last season, the 23-year-old striker scored 52 goals for Man City and won a historic treble with this team.
However, Haaland admits that he is not a perfect player. When asked about a skill he wanted to add, the Norwegian player mentioned Messi. “I want to possess Messi’s dribbling skills,” Haaland shared on France Football.
Haaland, along with Kylian Mbappe, is expected to become the next superstar of world football in the context that Messi (36 years old) and Ronaldo (38 years old) are both somewhat old. However, Haalang said the duo is not out of date yet.
“Ronaldo and Messi have done unbelievable things. Now, they are still doing it. Despite getting older, they are still excellent players. I feel honored to have the opportunity witnessing two great champions like them play football,” Haaland said.
When asked about whether he can surpass Ronaldo and Messi in the future, the player born in 2000 was humble. “I just focus on myself. I just want to get better every day and become the most complete version.”
After a successful start to the season with Man City, Haaland has now returned to the Norway team to compete in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. On September 13, Haaland and his teammates had an important match against Georgia.
