Lightweight and environmentally friendly vehicles will explore the secrets of the vast ocean.

It looks like a car out of this world. But the mission assigned to the ship “Earthrace” is also very unique. On March 1, the machine will embark on a journey during which it will break the world speed record around the world in a vehicle running only on ecological fuel. And he has a good chance of achieving it.

“Earthrace” will depart from Valencia, Spain. The record will be broken if the boat runs at a speed of 20-25 knots for 65 days. And this is only half of its power. Because the boat can overcome waves at a breakneck speed of 40 knots/hour, or nearly 80 km/h.

But speed is not the most important thing. What makes trimaran unique is that it runs only on ecological biofuel and does not emit any heavy metal compounds. And that’s exactly what the designers wanted – to create a fast vehicle that’s truly environmentally safe.

Is it possible to achieve the goals set by the designers of “Earthrace”? While the machine is not afraid of ocean waves – the boat can overcome ocean waves 15 meters high and can also swim underwater – it all depends on the crew. Because the boat can cope with even the worst conditions. But can humans withstand the stress, noise and strong shocks they will have to endure for nearly two months?
