Oscar Bobb almost provided us with the perfect start, finding the net inside five minutes, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
Pep Guardiola’s men dominated possession and chances and reaped the reward that the performance deserved when Ake poked in after 88 minutes, registering our first ever goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“It was a great feeling,” reflected Ake after full-time. “At one point, you start to wonder, are we ever going to score here?
“But yeah to do it in front of our own fans over there, was an amazing feeling.
“It was a big moment. They [City fans] came in big numbers, they were loud the whole game. It’s not easy to get here. Thanks to them.
We stayed in the game, we had a lot of energy and they did as well. I’m so happy for the fans, especially for the ones who came here.”
The Dutchman also provided his overall assessment of the team’s performance and touched on the squad’s confidence after successive late victories.
