Rapper Drake is in the headlines once again, this time it is not for his X-rated video, but for his big bet on the 2024 Super Bowl that saw him walking away with plenty of cash.
Taking to social media, the star revealed his hefty $1.15 million bet on the highly anticipated football event, showcasing his unwavering confidence in the Kansas City Chiefs over the favourites, the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl clash.
After today’s nail-biting finish with the Chiefs’ coming out victorious, Drake walked away with a staggering payout of over $2.3 million. “I can’t bet against the Swifties,” the rapper captioned the post, attributing his heightened confidence to fellow artist Taylor Swift and her devoted fanbase, the Swifties.
The hitmaker, later took to his handle to share his excitement over his big win. Drake was seemingly so excited about about his win that he even mistakenly broke his dinner plate.
This bold move into high-stakes gambling is not unfamiliar territory for Drake, who has previously engaged in sizable wagers on sporting events. In 2022, the rapper found himself on the losing end of another substantial bet. He famously placed a $2 million bet on the UFC fight that had Israel Adesanya facing off against Alex Pereira for the UFC middleweight title. The star put his money on Israel, only to later see Alex emerge victorious.
