ARSENAL and England are sweating on Bukayo Saka after he limped off injured during the Gunners’ 4-0 win at Bournemouth.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate names his squad on Thursday for the forthcoming international games against Australia and Italy.
Bukayo Saka limped off injured against Bournemouth Mikel Arteta will be sweating on his fitness ahead of next week’s clash against Man City
And Mikel Arteta will be praying that his star winger will be OK for Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Lens and the top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City next Sunday.
Saka had missed the midweek Carabao Cup win at Brentford after being kicked on the foot during last Sunday’s North London derby and was unable to train in the build-up to yesterday’s game.
He looked to be in serious pain when he was caught on the ankle blocking a 75th-minute shot from Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez.
He was immediately replaced by Fabio Vieira and will be assessed by the Arsenal medical team to diagnose the extent of the injury.
Arteta said: “I think it was a stamp in the same spot as last week but I haven’t had a chance to speak to him yet.
“Gabriel Jesus was also limping after the game so let’s see how they both are.
“I am just thinking about how we are going to prepare for Lens and then City will be the next step.”
Saka, 22, was on target in Arsenal’s convincing win over Bournemouth.
Penalties from Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz added to Saka’s opener.
Ben White then got on the scoresheet in injury time.
