The DC Extended Universe has been rebooted several times due to several reasons. Be it the actors not getting enough love from fans or simply lacking the skills to bring iconic characters to life. However, casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was undoubtedly one of the best decisions by the studio.
The iconic character has two standalone movies in the DCEU right now, among various appearances in other projects. While Gadot being Lady of Justice seems like a match made in heaven, the role almost went to Olga Kurylenko.

Olga Kurylenko Was on the Final Shortlist for Wonder Woman
Olga Kurylenko is known for her excellent performance as Camille Montes in the 2008 film James Bond: Quantum of Solace. Apart from that, Kurylenko also featured in Oblivion with Tom Cruise in 2013.
But even the veteran actor cannot land a role in every action film. Kurylenko shared details about her audition for Wonder Woman in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Yes, it’s true. Every big audition like that is nerve-racking. The Quantum of Solace one was nerve-racking. The one for Oblivion with Tom was a nerve-racking one. Every audition that you really want is always nerve-racking.
Although Kurylenko had experience of being action films, the role ultimately went to Gal Gadot. However, instead of feeling bad about not getting the role, Kurylenko took a positive approach to the rejection in the final stage.
The audition went like all of them. I had no idea, and anything could’ve happened. This time, it wasn’t a yes, but it’s fine because you can’t get everything in your life. It’s fine; I got Oblivion and Quantum of Solace. I can’t get everything, and it’s absolutely normal.
Ultimately, Gal Gadot was destined to be the titular character in Wonder Woman.
Gal Gadot also played the Amazonian Princess in the sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. As for Olga Kurylenko, she played a crucial role in the 2023 film Extraction II, starring Chris Hemsworth.

Did Olga Kurylenko Get a Chance to Wear the Iconic Wonder Woman Costume?
Of course, Olga Kurylenko would have loved to land the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the 2017 movie. But she was rejected in the final round of auditions.
With that being said, fans have always wondered whether she got the opportunity to wear the iconic costume of the Amazonian princess.
Well, she revealed the truth in the same interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
I remember wearing a bathing suit and some leather boots. They’re always surreal experiences. It’s funny. I loved the film just so you know. I don’t like every action film, but I liked Wonder Woman. I really enjoyed it.
Similar to Kurylenko, most movie fanatics loved both Wonder Woman films. While the actor failed to land the role previously, she could get another shot at it with the DCEU heading in a new direction.
Previously, Wonder Woman 3 was canceled due to the same reason. Now, many reports hint at the studio replacing Gal Gadgot with another actor. Can Olga Kurylenko land the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman this time? Only time will tell.
