A Long Island mansion built to resemble the famed Palace of Versailles in France has hit the market for $60million.
The ultra-lavish manor, named Maison des Jardins, was listed up for sale Thursday, Mansion Global reported.
Hpnotiq liquor entrepreneur Raphael Yakoby sold his company back in 2003, when he invested in the property that has since been revamped for more than $3.25million.
The mansion has been listed under New York-based real estate company Douglas Elliman.
The property had previously been listed for $100million back in 2016, before now again being put back on the market.
Real estate agent Eloise Halpern told Mansion Global the palace, carefully modeled on the Palace of Versailles, has been a longtime ‘dream’ for Yakoby.
Halpern is currently working alongside agent Patricia Bischoff to sell the property.
The chic 8.4-acre space includes ‘eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a grand ballroom, several other entertaining spaces and staff quarters,’ the luxury real estate listings site reports.
The spacious living room is 22 square feet and and is embellished with Baccarat crystal chandeliers, marble fireplaces and exquisite furniture.
The bright white walls are splashed in cool tones of green and light pink. The palatial home also includes a spacious wine storage room.
Halpern complimented her Yakoby’s sense of taste, saying: ‘He’s very creative and has a natural knack for colors, as you can see from the interior design of the home.
‘Almost everything, down to the silk flowers, is imported… The tremendous undertaking justifies the price.’
And while the home has a modernistic touch, ‘when you walk inside, you are immediately transported to another era,’ the agent added.
Outside, a 22-foot-high iron gate surrounds the mansion, as well as a quarter-mile driveway.
‘There is an anticipation as you go down the driveway, and when you see “the castle”, it’s really awe-inspiring,’ Halpern concluded.
The pricey property was initially listed for $100million in 2017 before it went up for sale on Thursday.
