Christian McCaffery – the San Francisco 49ers’ starting running back – has listed his $12.5million mansion in North Carolina for sale, just four years after buying it for four million dollars less.
The six-bedroom, 7.2-bathroom manor is located on Lake Norman in Mooresville – a suburb of Charlotte. The property, which overlooks eight acres of land, even set a record as the highest resale ever made in the Greater Charlotte Metro area in 2019, according to The Agency Charlotte.
The main home spans roughly 11,831 square feet with an estimate of 500 feet of lake frontage, which is accessible by a paved pathway and has a dock.
Amenities in the main home include a basement gym, wood-paneled study, a stone wine cellar, a sauna, a home theater, an elevator and a bar room opening up to an outdoor pool area. Other features includes a doubled-sided fireplace and a hidden panic room with a round vault door. The property also features a one-bedroom guest house above a three-car garage.
Both homes were built in 2019 and are connected by a porte-cochere.
The outdoor pool area features a salt-water pool with a spa and a firepit. It also boasts a kitchen on the second level and a grill area on the ground level.
In the primary suite, there is a two-story closet and a screened-in terrace. Other features in the home include a 60-foot turret ceiling in the foyer, a double-sided fireplace in the great room and a hidden panic room with a round vault door.
McCaffery turned the three-car garage under the guesthouse into a second, larger gym filled with the workout equipment he needed for training during the season.
The 27-year-old, three-time Pro Bowler also owns a boat that is already on site, as well as a Wildcat ATV, jet skis and a golf cart. All vehicles are included in the sale.
The boat was named after Christian’s fiancée, Olivia Culpo – the 2012 Miss Universe winner.
The home was designed by architect JJ Barja, who named it ‘Grand Lac Chateau,’ which translated from French means ‘Big Lake Castle.’
McCaffrey and Culpo announced their engagement in April of last year.
He and his 49er teammates will take on the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
