The AWWA Sky Whale, a large, attractive aircraft, is intended to represent the pinnacle of luxury, performance and sustainability in aviation.
At a recent exhibition on future transport held at Kuwait’s Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center, designer Oscar Vinals’ AWWA Sky Whale was displayed before the audience.
The Sky Whale concept focuses on future “green” aircraft designs for conventional aircraft of the 21st century, which can profit from more environmentally friendly fuel technology solutions and provide higher performance.
Besides, “Sky Whale” can be equipped with advanced technologies such as alloys, ceramic or fiber composites, carbon nanotubes, optical cables, self-healing skins, hybrid electric motors, wings operation, twin fuselage, virtual reality windows with adaptive dimming and the ability to generate electricity with micro solar cells arranged hexagonally on the ceiling of the structure.
Sky Wales has a superior engine and specially designed wings
The aircraft’s operating wings will be longer than conventional wings currently in use, with an eccentric turbine inside the wing close to the fuselage helping to direct the laminar airflow and turbines while generating generate electric power for four large electric-fuel hybrid engines. The electric-turbo hybrid propulsion system itself is also enhanced by expected advances in battery technology.
When the engine core is off, the aircraft’s engine can use the energy to run the jet engine along with gasoline to power the core.
The Sky Whale’s engines can rotate up to 45 degrees vertically to help perform take-off and landing motions. This greatly cuts the distance to perform these operations and serves as a method of support in unusual aerial conditions.
Fly-by-wire systems and avionics are used to control everything, with the help of active sensors spread across the plane’s surface.
For greater safety, the wings of the aircraft are positioned and built (with integrated engines) in addition to the fuselage. If there is a potentially life-threatening emergency landing, this separation leaves passengers less vulnerable to harm.
The most luxurious plane in the sky
With a length of 76.8 meters, coupled with a top speed of 997 km/h, the Sky Wale is comparable to today’s best long-range aircraft such as the Airbus A380-800 and Boeing 747. However, it will be big. significantly more and can accommodate up to 755 passengers.
When it comes to luxury, the Sky Whale is essentially built as a flying hotel, similar to the Sky Cruise, with everything from gyms to spas, not to mention the breathtaking views that first-class guests on This three-story hotel building can be enjoyed from the rooftop window.
All the amenities of a conventional plane will be provided to the passengers on board, in addition to various high-tech features.
On a three-decker plane, passengers will be divided into “tourist class”, “business class” and “first class”.
The top category will include rooftop windows with sky views that can be dimmed more or less to regulate the amount of light in the cabin.
According to experts, the design of Sky Whale is highly feasible. With the advancement of technology, one day soon in the future, a Sky Whale will be built and tested with passengers.
