Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible 8” was delayed after a submarine incident worth 746 billion VND

It was revealed that the gimbal (a rotating mount that allows rotating an object around an axis), used to lower the 36.5m high submarine, became stuck under the weight of the ship and had to be repaired.

As a result, filming was pushed back several weeks and caused the film’s budget to increase significantly.

A source told The Mirror: “They are not happy because it causes production delays, costing a lot of money every day.”

The seventh film – Dead Reckoning Part One – came out last year, but production on the second part was delayed due to a strike by Hollywood screenwriters.

The film was originally set to release this Summer but due to delays it was pushed back to May 2025, and now with further delays there is no telling when the film will come out.

The majority of the new episode has been filmed in the UK at Longcross studios, with Tom Cruise regularly spotted as agent Ethan Hunt.
The Mission: Impossible film series, which began in 1996, is based on the 1966 television series of the same name.

Along with the action franchise, Tom Cruise is returning to action for a new sequel to Top Gun following the huge box office success of Maverick, which grossed nearly $1.5 billion.

Tom Cruise will return as Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell, and Paramount, which will produce again, hopes to reunite him with recent co-stars Miles Teller and Glen Powell.

The news of Tom Cruise returning to work with Paramount – where he has released many recent films – appeared after he signed an agreement with Warner Bros. to produce and develop new films for that studio, including films in which he would star.

According to Puck News, Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger is writing the script for the third installment in the series.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that director Joseph Kosinski is also expected to return after proving himself with huge critical and commercial success.

Tom Cruise’s most recent contract with Paramount ended in 2006, although he continues to work with the studio and his new contract with Warner Bros. is non-exclusive, which will allow him to still work with other studios.

Tom Cruise and his co-stars helped the long-awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick Maverick gross nearly $1.5 billion.
And the action film’s months-long theatrical run has helped revive the theater business amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Although news of the sequel being a huge success has some seeing it as an attempt to tamp down the positive publicity that Warner Bros. received thanks to its connection to Tom Cruise, THR reports that it has been quietly in development since late Fall.
