Shaq sells his shack! Shaquille O’Neal’s lakeside Florida mansion, complete with 17-car garage and a 6,000-square-foot basketball court, hits the market for $22 million – 26 years after he bought it for $4 million
Pro basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal is selling his Florida lakeside mansion for $22 million.
The retired NBA superstar listed the property last May for $28 million but eight months on the home has failed to sell leading to a massive $6 million cut in price.
Privately situated on three acres of land overlooking tranquil Lake Butler, the magnificent custom home sits behind the gates of Isleworth, one of the most prestigious private golf club communities in the world.
‘Designed with lake views in mind, this unparalleled Isleworth Estate stands alone for its beauty, privacy, amenities and sheer scale,’ the listing reads.
The property, which is about a 30 minute drive from Orlando, sprawls over 31,000 square feet of living space and boasts an epic, 6,000-square-foot indoor basketball court.
The real-estate listing calls Shaq’s $22 million home a ‘one-of-a-kind estate’ that ‘stands alone for its beauty, privacy, amenities and sheer scale.’
O’Neal retired in 2011 after making more than $286 million over the course of his basketball career.
He bought this house in 1993 for a little less than $4 million, according to Realtor before putting it on the market last May.
‘This one-of-a-kind estate was designed for one of the most dominant players in the history of the NBA. Every exquisite detail has been curated to deliver the ultimate luxury living experience.
‘While it was built for a basketball legend, the world-class amenities and fine finishes will delight any discriminating homebuyer,’ said Danial Natoli of Sotheby’s International Realty which is listing the home.
