Lewis Hamilton is looking for opportunities to expand his business by considering a purchase in MotoGP.
Lewis Hamilton is a man of multiple interests apart from racing in Formula 1. The Briton has multiple other projects ongoing at the same time.
The seven-time world champion has a great affinity towards the Fashion industry and fighting for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. Amidst this, the Englishman has developed an interest in MotoGP as he aims to purchase a team.
MotoGP was in great demand after the news of Liberty Media looking to confirm the purchase of the motorbike racing category. Lewis Hamilton has also enjoyed multiple outings in MotoGP previously, especially with Valentino Rossi. Hence, as Liberty Media pushes to purchase Dorna and subsequently MotoGP, Hamilton is rumored to purchase Marc Marquez‘s team, Gresini Racing.
Lewis Hamilton’s member was spotted with the Gresini team in Assen last weekend. As a result, the 39-year-old is rumored to be aiming to purchase Gresini Racing sometime soon. The deal could pose major benefits to the F1 master with very little risk. The crossover is likely further supposed to benefit MotoGP’s numbers due to Hamilton’s well-spread-out fanbase.
Lewis Hamilton had previously claimed that he had ‘always loved bikes’
Lewis Hamilton visited the MotoGP circuit and drove around in Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha M1 back in 2019. Subsequently, the 39-year-old had recalled that he always loved bikes ever since he was a kid. Additionally, the seven-time world champion wanted to race bikes and not cars but was forced to drive a four-wheeler by his father.
” I have always loved bikes, When I was younger I wanted to race bikes, not cars but my dad wouldn’t let me – he said they were too dangerous! He got me into four wheels rather than two. It was the right choice because if I was racing during the time Vale was there, I wouldn’t have been so successful “. Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by the-race.com.
Despite being in Formula 1, Hamilton owns a superbike and loves to drive it around occasionally. The Briton labeled the feeling of driving a superbike as ‘fascinating’ due to the high-speed one-seater motorcycle. Additionally, he noted that driving the bike gave him a different perspective.
” Since I have been in Formula 1, I have a superbike and I like to do some track days. It is fascinating. It gives a different perspective “. Lewis Hamilton noted.
Lewis Hamilton will soon announce purchasing Gresini if the news turns out to be true. The ownership would be highly excited to witness how Hamilton’s future pans out after exiting F1. However, the Briton’s current priorities lie in ending the 2024 season with Mercedes on a high.
