She is set to take on the role of legendary late actress Hedy Lamarr in a short-run series on Showtime.
But Gal Gadot resumed filming for her highly-anticipated current project, Wonder Woman 1984 on Tuesday night.
Playing the role of Diana Prince, the Israeli actress, 33, cut an effortlessly elegant figure in a flowing white gown and teased locks as she shot scenes on set.
Gal looked every inch a vision as she slipped her statuesque figure into a plunging wrap-style dress.
With her midriff-inching gown and glamorous hair and make-up look, the former Miss. Israel certainly looked the part for the latest instalment of the comic book film franchise, which is set in the eighties.
Her filming endeavours comes after exciting news that she is expected to play late actress Hedy Lamarr in a short-run series on Showtime to chronicle the life and times of the actress, a mainstay in classic Hollywood.
According to Variety, Gal is close to inking a deal in which she would play the Vienna, Austria-born starlet, once referred to as ‘the most beautiful woman in the world.’
Lamarr was active in Hollywood from the 1930s until the 1950s, racking up her most memorable performances with 1949’s Samson and Delilah, 1941’s Come Live With Me and 1946’s The Strange Woman.
In addition to her silver screen accomplishments, Lamarr also made her mark inventing a number of contraptions, including a signal that helped the Allied Powers battle the enemy by interfering with torpedoes controlled via radio in World War II.
She was the subject of the 2017 Susan Sarandon-produced documentary Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story that aired on PBS.
‘People have the idea that I’m sort of a stupid thing,’ she said in tapes heard in the doc. ‘I was different, I guess. Maybe I came from a different planet, who knows? But whatever it is, inventions are easy for me to do.’
Lamarr died at the age of 86 on January 19, 2000.
In addition to Gadot, the show has plenty of big name power behind the scenes, with The Affair showrunner Sarah Treem on to write and executive produce.
Other executive producers on the project include Gadot’s husband Jaron Varsano and veteran show business executive Warren Littlefield, the former president of NBC who has executive produced series such as Fargo and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Gal, a native of Petah Tikva, Israel, has seen her star rise significantly over the past few years commandeering the role of Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, followed by her own feature film Wonder Woman, which racked up an incredible $820 million internationally at the box office last year.
The 5ft10 stunner – who has two daughters, Alma, six, and Maya, one, with Varsano – will star in the highly-anticipated sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, which is due in theaters next year.
