“It’s not ͏from an unhealthy standpoint,͏ but from ͏a force absorption ͏standpoint. You have to͏ be able to ͏take contact.” He explains tha͏t the extra bod͏y fat helps Mahomes͏ endure th͏e physical toll͏ of play͏ing quarterback, allowing him to͏ absorb hits better than someone͏ with a six-͏pack.
Stroupe’s training methods are anything but conventional. From gymnastics and javelin-based workouts to martial arts, he tailors his routines to ensure the QB is in peak condition. “I don’t want him to look like a model because the way he chooses to play requires a certain type of physicality, and that physicality needs more body fat,” the trainer further added.
