It was a perfect date with the ‘in-laws’ tonight for Angelina Jolie as she made a dazzling red carpet appearance alongside Brad Pitt’s mother.
The 36-year-old star – who was in New York for the premiere of her directorial debut In The Land Of Blood And Honey – was of smiley disposition as she posed with Jane Pitt for the cameras.
Mother-of-six Jolie was also accompanied by long-term partner Brad and his father Bill.
It topped off a day of bonding between Angelina and her boyfriend’s parents after she was spotted earlier in the day with the pair, putting an arm around Jane.
Despite rumours that Angie doesn’t get along well with Jane and Bill, the trio certainly appeared relaxed in each other’s company.
There has also been speculation Brad’s parents were more fond of his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
However there was no hint of animosity as the beaming women linked arms with Bill following closely behind.
Jolie was clad in a white suit as she stepped out in the Big Apple this morning, before changing into a brown silk dress.
Tonight she opted for a classic black flowing silk dress, which somewhat drowned her slender frame.
However, the actress/director certainly didn’t disappoint and looked absolutely stunning, teaming her outfit with a gold necklace and wearing her brunette hair loose.
Jane also went for the same monochrome colour theme, wearing black tights and a skirt and blazer combo with floral-shaped detailing spotted around the neckline.
Also at the event tonight, held at the School of Visual Arts, were the lesser-know Bosnian stars of the film, including Zana Marjanovic and Goran Kostic.
The drama revolves around a Muslim woman named Aija (Marjanovic)who falls in love with Serbian Daniijel (Kostic).
In the unlikely love story, which opens in American theatres on December 23, Daniijel inadvertently becomes Aija’s jailer when the Bosnians are captured by the Serbs.
In a recent interview, Angelina talked about her movie, which is set in the Nineties in war-torn Bosnia.
Speaking about the film in an interview with Christiane Amanpour this week, Jolie said: ‘I was thinking and meditating on these international themes of violence against women, lack of intervention and how human beings are changed and warped by war and how some people come out stronger and some people are truly broken.’
The Hollywood star has also revealed she plans to do another war film focusing on Afghanistan, where she made humanitarian trips to recently.
But for now, Jolie is facing allegations of stealing the story behind her movie from a Croatian journalist.
In legal documents obtained by RadarOnline, James J. Braddock claims that an article he wrote and published in 2007 is the basis for the film, which Jolie wrote and directed.
Braddock gives examples of the similarities between his work and Jolie’s film in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit states that: ‘The Subject Work’s main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp.
‘In addition to being raped continuously by soldiers and officers, she is forced to become a servant at the camp headquarters, a duty assumed by very few of the captives.’
The outraged author and journalist is demanding that a court awards him damages.
