Exactly year ago, Aston Martin showcased the DBR22 speedster concept at Pebble Beach. Now, the first prototype has been spotted testing out on public roads.
The Aston Martin DBR22 draws inspiration from the iconic DBR1 and DB3S open-cockpit sports cars. The production version stays true to the concept.
The car features a completely new body created from a minimal number of body panels.
The front grille incorporates a unique carbon fibre design, while the bonnet features a horseshoe vent seen on recent models like the V12 Vantage.
At the heart of the Aston Martin DBR22 is a 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine that produces 715 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. Aston claims that the monstrous motor catapults the car from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, and to a top speed of 198 mph.
