The stealth jet supercar: Qatar’s first megacar unveiled with carbon fibre body and metallic gold paint

Qatar’s annual Motor Show is known for its luxuries vehicles and high price tags – but this year, it featured its first home grown supercar.

Called the Elibreia, it is made of carbon fibre and coated in gold paint.

The futuristic machine is the result of a University of Texas A&M Qatar student’s research project.

Texas A&M Qatar graduate Abdulwahab Ziaullah developed the idea for the car during his undergraduate research and the model has been brought to life for the first time in partnership with Ali Bin Ali Group. Elibriea Automotive is currently conceptualizing a lightweight eco-friendly sports car without any compromise in performance, according to the Elibreia website
The unique vehicle is coated in a metallic gold paint and, according to Jalopnik, General Motors Company supplied a V-6 engine that produces 535 horsepower. The power is released to all of the four wheels, which should get it moving because the carbon fiber-bodied car only weighs 2,200 pounds

The power is released to all of the four wheels and should get it moving because the carbon fiber-bodied car only weighs 2,200 pounds, which is 800 pounds less than the average car.

Elibriea Automotive is currently conceptualizing a lightweight eco-friendly sports car without any compromise in performance, according to the Elibreia website.

‘This could be achieved by utilizing best of the available carbon fiber composite technologies and implementing them to develop not just the body panels or monocoque, but also the core components of drivetrain, resulting in sports car with more agility and net thrust per unit mass.’

The designer is working on another car, Equvallas, but has not shared any visuals with the public yet.

It will be another sports car with mid-engine, rear wheel drive and the same carbon fiber body as Elibreia.

Equvallas will have 6-speed sequential and an engine that generates 800 horsepower.

This is the sixth year of the Qatar Motor Show, which attracts car enthusiasts and trade professionals from all over the world.

The show highlights the luxury and mid-range automotive models, branded lifestyle goods and exhibits the latest automobiles and performance trends.

TheMinister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti paid a visit and toured the pavilions.

In a statement following the tour, he said ‘the current edition of the exhibition area has seen an increase by 18 percent from the previous one which includes 38 exhibitors, reported Gulf Digital News.

He praised this year’s edition which features some companies exhibiting cars powered by hybrid fuel, pointing to the need to raise public awareness for the acquisition of such cars because of their role in maintaining the environment.

This year’s event is hosted more than 20 new automotive models in the country.
